about

Victoria Sterling (b. Scranton, PA) is a multidisciplinary artist and writer living in Pittsburgh, PA.

After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.A. in philosophy and nonfiction writing, she continued to work at her alma mater in research ethics and adminstration. She managed the Geography of Philosophy Project under Dr. Edouard Machery at Pitt’s History & Philosophy of Science department, which brought together 100+ researchers from philosophy, anthropology, linguists, and more to study knowledge, wisdom, and understanding across cultures in more than 15 languages. Her work as a project manager included maintaining a knowledge repository for the web3 research forum SCRF and defining collaborative working ways with knowledge at PNC’s XI team. Digital tooling, internal strategy, storytelling, and relationship building are her specialities.

She is a co-organizer of PS event series, co-organizer of the annual Pittsburgh Zine Fair, advisor of the Pittsburgh Indie Exposition, occasional writer for Petrichor Magazine, and avid volunteer. In the past, she has volunteered with the Pittsburgh Art Book Fair, Carnegie Museum of Art special events, Shadyside Nursery, PGH Museums, Hot Mass, and BurghMeetsWorld. She was the previous curator and vice curator of the Global Shapers Pittsburgh.

In her artistic practice, she experiments with abstract zines, paintings, and photography exploring a cyber-botanical imagination. She moderates a flyer-share group called Monztera. She is a freelance writer and copyeditor, having worked with MyRight Note at the University of Pittsburgh disability services, and advocate for intersectional community solidarity.
